We use a wide array of modern dental technology to provide superior dental care in our Birmingham-Beverly Hills office. Two of the most significant advances in dental technology are digital imaging and laser dentistry.
Intraoral cameras, tiny digital cameras that fit inside your mouth, allow us to take high definition images of specific areas to aid in diagnosis and treatment. These cameras also let you “see what we see” so you can get a first-hand view of your teeth and dental work.
Digital X-rays have replaced film-based X-rays as the imaging technology of choice. These low-power X-rays use a digital system similar to the one in a digital camera to capture images. Because the images are stored on a computer we can view, zoom, and send them electronically.
Laser dentistry uses precise surgical lasers to replace drills and scalpels. Laser drills are more comfortable than drills because they are silent and they don't create vibrations in your mouth. Soft tissue lasers make finer incisions than metal scalpels, which lets you heal faster and with less pain after dental surgery.
