Dr. Matthew E. Joelson

Dr. Matthew E. Joelson has been practicing dentistry since 1997 and has been serving the community at Pierce Street Dental since 2012. His professional, compassionate approach and decades of experience make him a trusted provider for patients of all ages.

He earned his Bachelor of Science from Michigan State University, his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Northwestern University, and completed his Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) at the University of California, San Francisco.

Dr. Joelson was drawn to dentistry in high school after shadowing local dentists in his hometown. Since then, he has built a career focused on providing high-quality care and forming lasting relationships with his patients. He even had a cosmetic practice in downtown San Francisco and Chicago prior to returning to his hometown of Detroit in 2012 and partnering with Dr. Shushtari. He enjoys being part of a dedicated team and values the opportunity to contribute to the health and well-being of the community.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Joelson enjoys staying active through golf, hockey, and fitness. He also holds dual citizenship in the United States and Canada.
